DUTCH hormone testing stands for:
Dried Urine Test Comprehensive Hormones.
What is a DUTCH test?

It is a test you can do at home which will provide you with an insight into your levels of sex hormones (e.g. oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone), cortisol levels, melatonin, and markers for gut health, nutrient levels and neurotransmitters.
Its more comprehensive than a blood test and is a great way to further understand your hormones and takes away the guess work. Millions of women suffer from hormonal imbalances. Identifying the root cause of chronic health issues is so helpful, but only if properly identified.
The dried urine collection process is great for baseline measurements of women with hormonal imbalances and for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) monitoring.

How do I take the test?
​
The samples are urine (collected using strips that dry) and are needed to be collected across the day (at various points), as well as saliva samples (if doing the DUTCH Plus test). Once all collections are done you contact the shipment company (all included in the test kit) and arrange for collection. It takes 21-28 days to process the test at the lab, and as your coach I will then look at the report and do some analysis and then arrange a video call to go through the test with you.

This test will show you an extensive profile of adrenal and sex hormones along with their metabolites. Additionally the daily (diurnal) pattern of free cortisol is included along with melatonin.

​This test is suitable if you are dealing with any of the following issues and these have not improved with nutrition/lifestyle and/or supplementation adjustments or you want to remove the guess work and see what is actually happening with your hormones:

This test includes everything that is in the DUTCH Complete plus the addition of the Cortisol Awakening Response (CAR). This is a more detailed look at your cortisol levels; when you wake up and throughout the day. You could have a 'normal' free cortisol level according to the DUTCH Complete but with this test your CAR could be low or very high.

Measuring the rise and fall of cortisol can give more information around the possible root cause of symptoms. For example a low CAR could be indicative of poor sleep, psychological burnout or chronic fatigue. A high CAR could be indicative of stress or pain. We need a certain amount of cortisol to get us out of bed in the morning, however too much or too little can be problematic

How do I book a DUTCH test?

Once you make contact about booking a DUTCH test, these are the following next steps: - I will arrange for an invoice to be sent to you (cost of DUTCH test and my session fee x 2) - Invoice to be paid (let me know when this is done) - I will then order your Dutch test to be sent to you (will need following details: name, date of birth, home address, email & phone number) - Pick a good day to do your test (ideally based at home) and send it off (arrange collection) - After about a month I will be notified that your lab analysis has been completed - I will then analyse your report in conjunction with Nordic Lab - Once completed I will make contact with you to arrange a mutually convenient time to book our 1 hour coaching session - In the session I will make recommendations tailored to your specific hormone profile and goals and I will send you the lab report and my tailored plan for you.
